November 2009
We have moved to a new house in which I have
my own studio space. I'm so looking forward to
working in my new studio surrounded by my favourite
yarns and knitting books and creating fresh designs.
Currently I'm excited to be unpacking and setting
up my own space. My opportunities to knit
have been few, but I'm sure you still have
time to knit! Here are a couple of great small
projects just in time for the cold weather and
Christmas gift giving.
Available Again
We're re-releasing two patterns that were first
seen in the Accord Knitting Pattern-A-Day calendars
a few years back. Use up leftover self-patterning
and solid sock yarns from your stash when you
knit Tobie's
Mittens and Cuffs.
Both mitten and sock patterns offer several sizes
ranging from newborn to big kids.

The
instructions for Tobie's Mittens include
step-by-step photos illustrating how to pick up
stitches for the afterthought thumb.
Cuffs
is a sock pattern knit from the top down on double-pointed
needles. Ribbing hugs the ankle and a unique,
decorative cuff folds over the ribbing, giving
the socks pattern its name.
These winter woolies will keep little fingers
and toes warm all season. They are great portable
projects for the car, skating lessons, doctor's
office or anywhere you find yourself with a few
minutes to spare.
