Building blocks inspire a cardigan for the really active child, modeled by its namesake. The solid-coloured upper section contrasts beautifully with the jewel-like tones of the self-patterning yarn.

Techniques: stocking stitch, intarsia, K2tog, P2tog, SSK, SSP, right and left slanting increases, reverse stocking stitch trim, three-needle bind off.
The blue sweater was knit using Regia 4-ply Jacquard Taiga (5272) with Pingouin Laine Nylon turquoise (619) and Scheepjes Invicta Extra white (1357) in size 6-12 mo. The red sweater was knit using Pat ons Kroy Jacquard Crayon (54603) with Scheepjes Invicta Extra red (1545) and Regia 4-ply cream (1992) in size 1-2 yrs.
