Interested
in Intarsia? This workshop will prepare you to knit
the birthday sweaters-- One!
Two! Three! and Four!
Five! Six! Tackle the intricacies of intarsia to add
blocks and motifs of colour to your knitting. You'll learn
all the basics including joining colours, avoiding holes,
managing all those ends and tangles, and reading graphs.
We'll also cover tension issues. There is nothing to fear
and by the end of the workshop, you'll have the confidence
to work with colour.
Strategies
for Knitting with Self-Patterning Sock Yarns Intrigued
by the wonderful self-patterning, printed sock yarns?
This class is for non-sock knitters and sock knitters
alike.
Learn some tricks for working with this magical yarn.
Explore various stitch patterns and combine with solid
colours.
Discover the joys and limitations of self-patterning yarns
to make better choices when selecting yarn for your next
project. I must confess, this is one of my favourite workshops!
Modular
Magic Knit a cell phone or ipod cozy in three modular
strips using self-patterning sock yarn. Have fun watching
the stripes in the yarn appear as you learn to join your
strips together on both the RH and LH edges of this seamless
project. Skills learned in this class will have you ready
to knit the wonderfully seamless Jamie
sweater.
Pretty Picots
Learn to knit matching picot cast-on and picot bind-off edgings. They're so dainty and delicate and will give a girly touch to any basic project.
The Crochet Hook A crochet hook or two should be in every knitter’s bag. Join Holli to learn an array if trusty tricks and techniques to add to your repertoire. You will build your skills as a knitter and learn alternate ways to cast on, bind off, seam, incorporate beads and reclaim those pesky dropped stitches or correct errors.
Tip-Toe-Up Socks Knit a mini sock on two circular
needles while learning a beautifully invisible Turkish
cast-on for a toe-up sock. The heel is worked after the
sock is complete and can be replaced as the heel wears
out as many times as you need to replace it.

Around and Around (a.m.)
Learn to knit in the round while you have fun creating a one-of-a-kind coffee cozy that makes a perfect gift for your favourite coffee addict. We’ll have you using a set of double-pointed needles like a pro by the end of the class. Your java jacket will be shaped by changing needle size and it will sport a rolled hem to catch the coffee drips and a pretty picot bind-off.
